Born in Srinagar. has studied the Shaiva and Shakta scriptures from the traditional system of Kadi-Vidya of Kashmir. Had his schooling and college education in the premier colleges of Kashmir. Did Honors in Urdu from Aligarh, Masters in Hindi & English. Phd in comparative religious philosophy. He has authored many books on Hinduism with special reference to Kashmir.
Presently teaching religions of India and Sanskrit at Florida International University (USA).
