We are happy to announce that the Kashmiri Language
and Culture Institute will be holding its third annual
Intensive Immersion Course on Kashmiri Language and
Culture from January 16-20, 2003 at Brown University,
Providence, RI (Information also available on
koausa.org website-interactive pages). The past two
years have been an enormous success, enjoyed by all
who attended.

We have decided to continue this important and
exhilarating mission started two years ago. The
four-day intensive course focuses mainly on the
Kashmiri language through instructional classes, while
incorporating cultural seminars on Kashmiri history,
religion, the arts, and current events. In addition,
various social activities and dinners are planned to
enhance the comfortable and cultural learning
atmosphere of Brown University in Providence, RI.

The Kashmiri Institute is designed for Kashmiri youth
between the ages of 17 and 30, with experience in
Kashmiri varying from first-time speakers to advanced
speakers. This year’s weekend conference opportunity
will be able to accommodate the various time
constraints most ambitious Kashmiri youths encounter.
This year, the total fees per student will be $100 for
4 days, including housing, 2 dinners, 4 light
breakfasts, classroom use, instruction, and course
materials.
