| Southern California Youth Camp
A youth Camp was organized from June 29-30, 2002, at the Dark Canyon Campground (in the San Bernadino National Forest), for Kashmiri youth, 16-35 years of age. My sincere thanks to Seema Mattoo and Monica Bhatt, both from S. California for organizing this youth camp. They wrote, ?We hope to use this camping trip as an opportunity to meet other young Kashmiris and make new friends. We also hope to learn more about Kashmir and our Kashmiri heritage. We plan on holding informal campfire discussions on the following topics: History and origin of Kashmiri Pandits; Kashmiri lifestyle and festivals; Kashmir?s contributions to the world ? cultural, literary, etc; Political history of Kashmir and the current Kashmir crisis. More information will be provided when available from the organizers and the participants. |
